At the moment, a7san ma63am 3ndi-naa is a rough-looking fa6aayr house somewhere in the clutter of Kuwait's Souq Mubarikiyah.

For no more than a few hundred fils, a meat or fresh spinach pastry is rolled out, stuffed and slid into a clay oven. A few minutes later, it emerges browned and almost too hot to touch.

Since my first bite, I've struggled to imagine a snack that's a7san than this.
